Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, held an online meeting with diplomatic advisors to the leaders of Northern European and Baltic states, Ukrinform reports, citing the Office of the President.

The purpose of the call was to coordinate positions on negotiations aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.

Yermak briefed the participants on recent developments, including talks in Istanbul, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s meetings in Italy and the Vatican, and conversations between Zelensky, U.S. President Donald Trump, and European leaders.

He said that the first step following potential talks with the Russian side should be the implementation of a prisoner exchange agreement in a “1,000 for 1,000” format. The second step would be to determine the location for the next round of talks with Russian representatives.

“During the conversation, [the sides] also addressed the need to maintain sanctions pressure on Russia in response to its continued prolongation of the war,” the statement said.
