Two civilians killed as Russians shell Kherson with artillery

Russian forces shelled the city of Kherson with artillery around 12:10, killing two civilians.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“According to the investigation, on May 23, 2025, at approximately 12:10, Russian military forces carried out an artillery strike on Kherson. As a result of a shell explosion, two civilian men were killed,” the statement reads.

Additionally, the Kherson Regional Military Administration reported via Telegram that around 12:20, the enemy attacked Kherson again using a drone.

“The occupiers dropped explosives from a drone on a 45-year-old man, causing blast trauma and multiple shrapnel injuries. The victim is currently hospitalized,” the administration noted.

It was also reported that around 9:00, between the villages of Kachkarivka and Nova Kamianka in the Beryslav district of Kherson region, a 36-year-old man was wounded in another enemy strike. He sought medical help on his own and was diagnosed with blast trauma and an eye injury.

As previously reported, Russian forces have repeatedly targeted a kindergarten in Kherson.
