North Korea is sending workers to Russia for employment at defense industry enterprises, particularly in the aircraft industry, as well as labor for agriculture and construction.

This was reported in an interview with Ukrinform by Head of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service Oleh Ivashchenko.

“We know that North Korea has begun supplying Russia with specialists with appropriate background for work in the defense-industrial sector, in particular, in the aircraft industry. The DPRK also supplies labor for agriculture, construction of houses and highways,” he said.

According to the Foreign Intelligence Service, Pyongyang sent 13,800 its workers to Russia last year.

It was previously reported that North Korea is supplying Russia with ammunition, 170 mm M1989 Koksan artillery systems, 240 mm M1991 multiple rocket launchers, and military personnel.

In this context, a draft resolution has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) to appeal to international institutions and national parliaments to recognize the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) as an aggressor state.
