Since January 2025, Kyiv has allocated a total of UAH 6 billion to support Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
Mayor Vitali Klitschko announced this in a post on Facebook, as reported by Ukrinform.
According to Klitschko, the capital has supplied more than 16,000 drones of various types, over 100 electronic warfare systems, vehicles, and other essential equipment to the frontline.
The mayor also emphasized Kyiv’s continued support for those returning from the front and the families of fallen defenders. Over the past two years, the support budget has increased nearly 2.5 times—from UAH 720 million in 2023 to almost UAH 1.76 billion in 2025.
A significant portion of this funding is directed toward payments for veterans and families of defenders. Thanks to an updated benefits and guarantees system, assistance now extends to all Kyiv-based service members and their families.
“The city is doing everything possible to ensure that returning from the front to civilian life is not a new challenge, but a new beginning. We will continue to support the military, constantly seeking new ways to assist them,” Klitschko stated.
Additionally, on the occasion of the Day of Heroes of Ukraine, the mayor presented 48 awards from the capital to service members and volunteers.
