
Early on Wednesday, May 28, Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure in Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Sumy regions.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) on Telegram.
In Kharkiv region, drone debris fell onto the railway tracks. Railway workers temporarily stopped train traffic to allow police and rescuers to neutralize the drone remnants. Train movement was promptly restored.
In the town of Sloviansk, Donetsk region, combat actions damaged the overhead contact line. Debris from an FPV drone also broke a window of an electric train carriage. Sloviansk was under renewed Russian shelling in the morning. Windows in the railway station building were also damaged.
In Sumy region, a Russian drone slightly damaged the tracks, but train movement on the section continues without delays.
There were no casualties or injuries among workers or passengers in any of these incidents, Ukrzaliznytsia noted.
