Ukraine is ready to purchase American weapons and is in active negotiations with the United States on this matter.
This was stated at a briefing on Tuesday, June 10, by Foreign Ministry spokesman Heorhiy Tykhyi, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Ukraine is in active dialogue with the United States on purchasing American weapons, including Patriot air defense systems and other capabilities belonging to the United States,” Tykhyi said.
The spokesman thanked the United States for the assistance provided, noting that it was indeed “significant and large” and adding that Ukraine is ready to purchase American weapons using various financing sources, including within the framework of the Fund established as part of the Minerals Deal.
The Foreign Ministry spokesman also informed that military aid from the United States keeps flowing into the country, assuring that Ukrainian diplomacy is doing everything to ensure that it continues.
“I am convinced we will be able to find the modalities of a solution that will allow us to receive the required American weapons and equipment, licenses, if necessary, and other things,” he noted.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said the United States had provided Ukraine with $105 billion in aid, mainly in the form of weapons, as evidenced by the audit.
