In the Novopavlivka sector of the front, Russian troops are still around 10 to 15 kilometers away from reaching the administrative border between Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
This was stated during a television broadcast by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“This is the southeastern direction toward Dnipropetrovsk region. For the enemy to reach the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions in the Novopavlivka sector, they still need to pass several settlements, including Zelene Pole, Novopil, Vilne Pole, and Novosilka. So, in principle, they are still about 10 to perhaps 15 kilometers away,” Voloshyn explained.
He also clarified earlier claims that the Russian forces were merely 600 meters away, saying that may apply to other directions, but not to Novopavlivka.
At the same time, Voloshyn emphasized that Russian troops are conducting intensive infantry assaults by small groups in the area. Specifically, 35 such enemy assaults were recorded in the Novopavlivka sector in the past 24 hours.
“They’re maintaining a high intensity of assaults here, trying to break through to Dnipropetrovsk region,” he added. “Other directions might be closer to the administrative line, but along our axis, they still have nearly 10 kilometers to go.”
As previously reported, since the beginning of the day, Ukrainian Defense Forces have engaged in 99 combat clashes with Russian troops, 33 of them along the Pokrovsk axis.
