Fedir Shandor, Ukraine’s ambassador to Hungary, went to the graduation ceremony at the Ukrainian Education Center for Refugees in Budapest, which started right after Russia invaded Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Embassy in Hungary shared this on Facebook.
The center operates on the premises of the American International School in Budapest, which provided free space for Ukrainian children to study after school.

During the visit, Fedir Shandor presented an American football, which is a symbolic gesture, given his position as President of the American Football Federation of Transcarpathia.
The ambassador also donated over 50 books of contemporary Ukrainian fiction and children’s literature. This contribution is important for supporting Ukrainian culture among young people who are forced to live abroad.

At the ceremony, Fedir Shandor congratulated the graduates and presented them with their diplomas. He emphasized that Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for the future of Ukrainian children and stressed the importance of maintaining the younger generation’s connection with their homeland, because “children are the continuation of the nation.”

On the eve of Easter, Ukrainian Ambassador to Hungary Fedir Shandor visited the Lesia Ukrainka School in Budapest, where he met with students and teachers.
