As a result of Iran’s massive missile attack against Israel on June 14, five Ukrainian nationals were killed in the city of Bat Yam, including three minors.
That’s according to Ukrinform’s source in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“As per tentative reports from the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel, on June 14, as a result of Iran’s massive missile attack against Israel as a missile hit a residential building in Bat Yam, five Ukrainian nationals were killed, including three children,” the ministry reported.
The bodies are being identified. Ukrainian diplomats and consuls are in close contact with the Israeli police and other agencies to complete the identification and organize the repatriation of the bodies.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, emergency responders in Israel have retrieved eight bodies from under the rubble following Iranian missile strikes on Sunday night, which also left 200 people injured. Over 30 people are still considered missing.
The Israel Defense Forces launched strikes on Iran Friday night, June 13, attacking dozens of targets related to nuclear development and other military facilities. Iran initially responded by launching over 100 drones into Israel over several hours, followed by a missile attack.
Air carriers on Friday redirected or canceled flights that were scheduled to operate in the airspace over Israel, Iran, Iraq, and Jordan.
