The Israeli Air Force has destroyed 120 of Iran’s ballistic missile launchers, effectively preventing the launch of nearly half the missiles the Islamic Republic had intended to fire at Israel overnight.

This was announced by IDF Chief Spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin, according to The Jerusalem Post, as reported by Ukrinform.

“The Islamic Republic was only able to fire around half of the missiles it had intended to fire overnight,” said Defrin.

Thanks to the Israeli strike, over 120 surface-to-surface missile launchers were destroyed, which amounts to one-third of Iran’s missile launcher arsenal.

It’s emphasized that each launcher could have fired dozens of missiles during the current escalation.

By the end of the conflict, Iran’s ability to launch large numbers of missiles simultaneously was reduced by at least one-third, if not more. During this single night operation alone, Tehran’s firepower was nearly halved, the publication notes.

The IDF Spokesperson also reported that the Air Force intercepted 20 Iranian ballistic missiles en route to their launch sites.

It was clarified that Iran managed to launch 40 ballistic missiles but had planned to launch at least 60.

Additionally, Defrin stated that 50 aircraft were used by the Israeli Air Force over the past day to strike approximately 100 Iranian targets.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Israeli Defense Forces launched an air campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear program facilities, carrying out airstrikes on dozens of atomic-related and military sites.

In response, Iran launched a massive missile strike targeting Israel’s nuclear infrastructure and military assets.
