Russian troops are attempting to break through toward Kostiantynivka from the Pokrovsk direction, specifically along the Pokrovsk-Kostyantynivka highway, aiming to advance further. Intense fighting is currently ongoing in the area.
Major Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, said this on Ukrainian television, Ukrinform reports.
“Russian forces have long been trying to encircle Kostiantynivka from three directions. Previously, they attempted to approach it either from the Toretsk or Kramatorsk directions, or via Chasiv Yar — essentially wherever they managed to push forward first. But over the past one-and-a-half years, they haven’t succeeded on any of those fronts. Now, they are trying to advance from the Pokrovsk direction, specifically via the Pokrovsk-Kostyantynivka highway. That’s where heavy fighting is taking place,” Trehubov said.
He stressed that the largest concentration of enemy forces is currently along the Pokrovsk axis.
