There is high activity of Russian invading forces observed in the Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, Lyman, Kupiansk, Kharkiv, Toretsk, and Kramatorsk sectors of the front. This indicates a renewed enemy offensive that had been previously announced.
This was stated in a televised broadcast by Major Viktor Trehubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group of Troops, according to Ukrinform.
“The enemy is very active. If we take just the previous day, there were 46 attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, 32 in Novopavlivka. That’s a very high number for Novopavlivka — currently, there is particular enemy activity there. 14 in Lyman, 11 in Kupiansk, seven in Kharkiv. That’s also unusually high number for Kharkiv. 15 in Toretsk, and 10 in Kramatorsk. All of this represents high activity and indicates the kind of summer escalation we expected and which had been essentially forecasted,” said Trehubov.
When asked about attempts to advance toward the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region, the Spokesperson noted that currently, the activity is concentrated only in two directions — Pokrovsk and Novopavlivka.
Trehubov also said that several combined-arms Russian armies are concentrated in the Pokrovsk sector, along with the full range of military equipment. However, they have not succeeded in capturing Pokrovsk.
“Their last campaign, which was directly aimed at the town of Pokrovsk, failed this year and resulted in heavy losses for them. Now they have shifted focus — part of their group, which we still consider within the Pokrovsk sector, is moving westward and attempting to break through toward Dnipropetrovsk region; another part is trying to move east within the same sector, attempting a breakthrough northward past the Pokrovsk-Kostiantynivka highway to advance further there. Possibly from Kostiantynivka, but again, all efforts are being made to stop and push them back,” Trehubov explained.
He emphasized that the enemy continues to actively use small infantry groups, light vehicles, and has the capability to infiltrate and move undetected into Ukrainian positions by using forest strips.
Trehubov also noted that Russian invaders are actively using glide bombs during shelling, although their effectiveness remains low.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, a large number of engagements with the enemy were recorded in the Novopavlivka sector in Donetsk region.
