Between 2020 and 2021, he headed the department overseeing criminal proceedings related to offenses in the defense-industrial sector at the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Military and Defense Affairs within the Prosecutor General’s Office.

From 2021 to 2023, Kravchenko headed the Bucha District Prosecutor’s Office in the Kyiv region.

In April 2023, he was appointed Kyiv regional governor by presidential decree. He was dismissed from that role in December 2024, and shortly thereafter, he was appointed head of the State Tax Service.
