As of 17:30 on Tuesday, June 17, 12 people were confirmed dead following overnight Russian strikes in Kyiv and Odesa.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

He said that the updated death toll includes ten people in Kyiv and two more whose bodies were recovered from the rubble in Odesa.

“Unfortunately, operational information often requires correction, as body parts discovered during search and rescue operations may initially be recorded as separate fatalities. Final confirmation comes from forensic experts after analysis in a mobile DNA laboratory,” Klymenko said.

Earlier reports indicated 14 (some sources said 15) fatalities and more than 100 injuries in Kyiv.

Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko updated the casualty figures, confirming the deaths of ten people in the capital due to the Russian attack.
