The pilot project within the framework of cooperation between Ukraine and the United States may involve the development of the Dobra lithium deposit in Ukraine’s Kirovohrad region.
This was reported on Telegram by the chief of the Ukrainian President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, Ukrinform saw.
“Ukraine is about to announce a tender for the development of the Dobra lithium deposit in Kirovohrad region. This may be the first project within the framework of cooperation with the United States. I am glad to see that the process is underway and the outcome of our meetings in Washington a week ago are being transformed into concrete action,” Yermak said.
He also noted that on June 18, at the G7 summit, cooperation was discussed with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
“Today, at the G7 summit in Canada, together with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, we met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and discussed cooperation in detail. We are working further,” the head of the Presidential Office added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Dobrovelychkivska community in Kirovohrad region is looking for investors to develop lithium deposits. The community studied factors important for attracting investment: communication, logistics, and human resources, and analyzed promising areas of economic development. All this was combined into an investment passport, which was developed together with U-LEAD experts.
In addition, there is a 160-hectare land plot on the territory of the community, which can be utilized as an industrial park or industrial site for the development of this deposit. This is the territory of a mothballed sugar refinery. There are convenient supply routes, a workforce, water resources, and electricity needed to launch the project.
