President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that approximately 695,000 Russian troops are currently deployed on Ukrainian territory, with an additional 52,000 stationed across the border in Russia’s Kursk and Belgorod regions.
The President announced this during his meeting with journalists, as reported by an Ukrinform correspondent.
“As of today, 695,000 Russian troops are on Ukrainian territory,” Zelensky stated.
He added that an additional 52,000 Russian forces are concentrated across the border in Russia’s Kursk and Belgorod regions.
“Plus, the Kursk and Belgorod sectors—I mean opposite Kharkiv and Sumy. That is, there is still a certain number of people from the Sumy sector, about 52,000,” said the President.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 188 combat engagements with Russian forces along the frontline on June 20.
