On the eve of active measures by the United States against Iran’s nuclear program facilities, 176 citizens of Ukraine and partner countries were evacuated from the danger zone.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
He noted that the evacuation was carried out by Ukrainian diplomats in coordination with the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
According to the President, 176 people were evacuated from Israel to Egypt. Among them were citizens of Moldova, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Estonia, and the United States.
At present, evacuation efforts are ongoing from Iran to Azerbaijan.
President Zelensky was briefed by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on the work of Ukrainian embassies in the region and the evacuation process.
” We are responding to every request and will continue evacuation efforts. I have instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and our intelligence service to provide all the necessary protection for our people in the Middle East and the Gulf region,” Zelensky emphasized.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, on June 22, in a national address, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the destruction of key nuclear sites in Iran, located in the complexes at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, and warned of further strikes if Tehran does not agree to peace.
