Devastation in Dnipro: apartment buildings, educational institutions, hospitals damaged by Russian strike

As a result of today’s missile strike on Dnipro, around 50 apartment buildings, nearly 40 educational institutions, and a large number of other facilities were damaged. According to the city authorities, this is the worst destruction Dnipro has experienced since the beginning of the full-scale war.

Mayor of Dnipro Borys Filatov reported the details on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

Final damage assessments are still ongoing.

“Across residential buildings and various municipal facilities in the city, we have more than 2,000 (!) shattered windows alone. In total, nearly 50 apartment buildings have been damaged, with some also suffering roof destruction,” the statement reads.

“Nearly 40 educational institutions were affected — secondary schools, kindergartens, music schools, and vocational colleges. There is damage to eight healthcare facilities — hospitals, outpatient clinics, and a dental clinic,” Filatov added.

Public transport was also hit. Three tram cars were damaged, a contact network support pole was destroyed, and dispatch centers and maintenance workshops suffered impacts. One depot’s roof was shattered.

Also affected were the Kaidatska pumping and filtration station, 16 district and residential boiler stations, the social services department, a church, an organ concert hall, an ice arena, a gas station, a correctional facility, a bakery, an industrial enterprise, a district administration office, and the State Treasury.
