Ukrainian police have evacuated a woman with limited mobility and a mother with her four-year-old child from the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region, which has been under constant shelling by Russian forces.
According to regional police, who shared a video of the operation on Telegram, officers carried out the rescue on foot, as vehicles could not reach the targeted area due to its proximity to enemy positions.
“Even on foot—police evacuated a four-year-old child with his mother and a woman with limited mobility from Kostiantynivka. Police officers are rescuing people from the most dangerous areas of the city, which are closest to the enemy and inaccessible by car,” the report reads.
Authorities confirmed the woman and the child are now safe in the Kirovohrad region.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, Russian forces launched five attacks in the Kramatorsk sector by 16:00 on Monday, June 23, targeting areas near Novomarkove, as well as toward Mykolaivka and Stupochky.
Kostiantynivka is located in the Kramatorsk district of the Donetsk region.
