In The Hague, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a joint meeting with President of Finland Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson, and Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre.
That’s according to the President’s Office, Ukrinform reports.
The Ukrainian President thanked the leaders of the Nordic countries for their close coordination and dedication to efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace, the report reads.
Among the key topics of the meeting were increasing military support for Ukraine, “primarily strengthening air defense to protect lives”.
The leaders discussed the needs of Ukrainian soldiers for preparing the upcoming defense packages.
In addition, the development of joint defense production between Ukraine and the Nordic countries was on the table.
According to Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrainian priorities include the production of long-range drones and missiles in Ukraine, which is already financially supported by Nordic partners.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky met on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in The Hague with his American counterpart Donald Trump. Their talks lasted nearly 50 minutes. Zelensky hailed the meeting as “long and meaningful”.
