President Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with military leadership and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov to assess the situation in key operational areas, including the Pokrovsk and Sumy sectors.
Zelensky announced this in a Facebook post, as reported by Ukrinform.
Regarding the Pokrovsk direction, the head of state expressed deep gratitude to all units of the Defense Forces and every soldier carrying out operations in this sector of the front. He noted that a substantial concentration of Russian troops is positioned in the area, with the enemy conducting numerous assault operations.

“The Sumy region – we held a separate discussion on this direction today. A week ago, we assigned our troops specific tasks and designated lines. As of today, those objectives have been fully accomplished. This is important,” Zelensky noted.

He stated that Russia’s offensive plan for the Sumy region is failing – and this is thanks to every Ukrainian unit operating in that direction.
“We are also continuing active efforts as part of the Kursk operation. For nearly 10 months now, the operation has been fulfilling its goal,” he said.
He added that there was also a detailed discussion about Ukrainian drones – funding, contracts implementation, production, and supply.

“Deep-strike drones, interceptor drones, and all types of drones for the front line. We are ramping up production. In the coming days, I will speak with EU leaders about additional funding for drone production and joint manufacturing. Ukraine’s leadership in war technology must be maintained,” he said.
As reported by Ukrinform, in the Sumy region, the Defense Forces liberated Andriivka and advanced in the area of Oleksiivka, pushing Russian troops further away from Sumy.
