The US president confirmed that he discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine with Russian leader Putin on Thursday, noting that no progress had been made.
Donald Trump told reporters at Andrews Air Force Base before flying to Iowa, according to Ukrinform’s correspondent.
He replied that they had a phone conversation, which was quite long, during which they discussed many topics, including Iran and also, as he noted, the war between Russia and Ukraine. He added that he was not happy about it.
When asked by journalists whether any progress had been made in the conversation, the US president said, “No, I didn’t make any progress with him today.”
When Trump was asked about suspending arms supplies to Ukraine, he said that the United States was providing this support but had to make sure it had enough weapons for itself.
The head of the White House said that they were providing weapons, working with them, and trying to help. However, he added that Biden had devastated the entire country by giving them weapons and emphasized the need to ensure that they had enough for themselves.
As reported by Ukrinform, Trump had a telephone conversation with Putin on Thursday. The Kremlin reported that the conversation lasted almost an hour.
