Over the past day, July 4, a total of 183 combat engagements took place between Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invading troops.
As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in an update posted on Facebook, reflecting the situation as of 8:00 on Saturday, July 5.
Russian forces carried out four missile strikes, 74 airstrikes (using 14 missiles and dropping 117 guided aerial bombs), 6,312 shelling attacks, including 118 from multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), and 5,250 kamikaze drone attacks.
Russian aviation targeted multiple settlements, including Seredyna-Buda in Sumy region, Vilkhuvatka in Kharkiv region, Novopavlivka, Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk region, Kostiantynivka, Andriivka-Klevtsove in Donetsk region, Kamianske, Veselianka, Prymorske, Mala Tokmachka, Stepnohirsk, Bilohiria in Zaporizhzhia region, Odradokamianka in Kherson region.
In response, Ukrainian aviation, missile troops, and artillery struck 10 clusters of enemy troops, weapons, and equipment, three artillery systems, one air defense asset. one drone control center, one ammunition depot, five other key Russian military targets.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, the Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 attacks. The enemy launched 13 airstrikes using 32 guided bombs and carried out 290 shellings, including nine MLRS attacks.
In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, Russian troops attempted to break through Ukraine’s defensive lines 10 times near Vovchansk, Hlyboke, Zelene, Kamianka, and toward Kutkivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled eight attacks near Holubivka, Zahryzove, and Zelenyi Hai.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces launched 27 assaults trying to break into the Ukrainian defenses near Nadiya, Hrekivka, Karpivka, Ridkodub, Zelena Dolyna, Torske, Dibrova, and toward Hryhorivka.
In the Siversk sector, the enemy made three offensive attempts near Verkhniokamianske and Vyimka.
In the Toretsk sector, the Russians carried out 11 attacks near Romanivka and toward Rusyn Yar and Yablunivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 66 Russian assault attempts near Poltavka, Novotoretske, Razine, Myroliubivka, Promin, Novoukrainka, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Kotliarivka, and Oleksiivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy launched 17 attacks near Yalta, Zirka, Zaporizhzhia, Komar, Voskresenka, and Shevchenko.
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops attempted three times to assault Ukrainian positions near Kamianske and toward Novoandriivka.
In the Prydniprovske sector, the enemy made three unsuccessful attempts to attack in the Antonivskyi Bridge area.
In the Kramatorsk and Huliaipole sectors, no combat engagements were recorded.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of Russian offensive group formations were spotted.
As Ukrinform previously reported, the total combat losses of Russian forces in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to July 5, 2025, are estimated at approximately 1,025,260 personnel, with 1,050 eliminated in the past 24 hours alone.
