
In the de-occupied areas of Kherson region, sappers have already cleared 69% of the territory.
This was reported to a Ukrinform correspondent by the press service of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
“At present, sappers have surveyed and demined 69% of the de-occupied territory of the region,” the administration stated.
According to their data, a total of 471,214.8 hectares have been checked for explosive hazards. 248,209 explosive devices have been destroyed. The area of potentially contaminated agricultural land in the de-occupied territory of Kherson region is 508,300 hectares, of which 433,300 hectares have been surveyed.
At a briefing, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin stated that over the past seven days, sappers had inspected more than 1,550 hectares on the right bank of the Dnipro River — almost all of it farmland. According to him, about 1,000 explosive devices were destroyed during that time.
As reported by Ukrinform, by the end of June, the Demining Coalition had raised EUR 93 million since the year-start.
