
In the Kherson region, Russian shelling throughout the day has left one person dead and 18 others injured. A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incidents as potential war crimes.
According to Ukrinform, the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Telegram.
“As of 17:00, it is known that one person has been killed and 18 others injured as a result of Russian aggression,” the statement reads.
According to the investigation, on July 8, 2025, Russian forces attacked settlements in the Kherson region, primarily using UAVs and artillery.
In the morning, a man was killed in Antonivka when a drone dropped an explosive device on a civilian car.
In total, 17 people were injured due to drone attacks in Kherson, Antonivka, Beryslav, and Bilozerka.
One more person sustained injuries in the regional center during a separate artillery strike.
Under the procedural oversight of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incidents as violations of the laws and customs of war.
At around 05:00 on July 8, Russian forces dropped explosives from a drone onto a civilian car in Kherson, killing the 66-year-old driver.
