Russian invaders increased the number of missiles and drones used to attack Ukraine by 1.6 times in a month, while the Defense Forces hit about 4,000 targets.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Facebook.

According to him, in June, “the Russian aggressor tried to destabilize our defense, increased the intensity and number of strikes, and sought to stretch the line of combat engagement.”

The task of the Defense Forces, Syrskyi emphasized, was to stabilize the situation and contain the enemy in threatening areas — primarily in the North Slobozhansky, Dobropilia, Pokrovsk, and Novopavlovske areas, where the Russian army is concentrating its main efforts, has created the largest concentration of troops, and significantly outnumbers us in terms of forces and resources.

According to the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy “is consistently increasing the number of personnel involved in the aggressive war against our country and is stepping up the production of missiles and drones. Therefore, we are forced to resort to symmetrical and asymmetrical moves and seek new tactical and technological solutions to counter the occupiers.”

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers are bravely holding back the enemy’s offensive attempts, accurately destroying Russian personnel and equipment, inflicting effective damage on the aggressor’s military and logistical targets deep inside Russian territory, and consistently weakening its industrial potential.

Thus, during June, Ukrainian defenders carried out 115 fire missions using DeepStrike. Artillery struck 2,864 enemy targets.

Among the main priorities, Syrskyi named strengthening and improving the effectiveness of the air defense system.

“War with such an enemy requires mobilization and recruitment. There are many problematic issues along this path, but the main thing during mobilization is to ensure a normal attitude towards people and proper training. At the meeting, violations of the mobilization procedure in several regions were analyzed. Errors and shortcomings were identified, which must be analyzed and corrected,” the commander-in-chief said.

At the same time, Syrskyi emphasized that the recorded increase in the number of returnees from AWOL (unauthorized absence from duty) is encouraging.

“Given the instability of the international situation, we are looking for new ways to obtain and purchase weapons and military equipment, expand the possibilities for its repair, and modernize additional elements of protection. An unchanging requirement is the development of strike drones, which compensate for part of the range of artillery shells. A new difficult month of war lies ahead. I have set specific tasks to strengthen our defense capabilities,” the general added.

As reported by Ukrinform, Syrskyi emphasized at a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in active defense and preventing the Russians from advancing deeper into the defense.
