The escalation of Russian terror underscores the urgent need to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense, including investment in interceptor drones and increased pressure on Russia.
That’s according to Andrii Sybiha, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, who made the statement on the social media platform X, Ukrinform reports.
“Instead of peace efforts, Russia launched a record nearly 750 drones and missiles at Ukraine overnight. This growing terror underscores the urgent need to bolster our air defense, including investments in interceptor drones, increase pressure on Russia, and cut its oil revenues,” Sybiha said.
As reported by Ukrinform, during the night of July 9, the Russian military launched a combined attack on Lutsk, deploying drones and missiles, including Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. Explosions were reported across the city.
Ukraine’s air defense forces successfully neutralized 718 aerial threats, including seven Kh-101/Iskander-K cruise missiles.
