
A one-year-old boy was killed in Kherson region after a Russian drone struck a residential yard in the village of Pravdyne.
That is according to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, Ukrinform reports.
“On July 9, 2025, in the village of Pravdyne, Kherson district, Russian forces attacked a civilian site using an unmanned aerial vehicle. The explosive device hit a yard where the baby was present,” the statement reads.
As a result of the explosion, the child died, and a local woman was injured.
Under the procedural guidance of the Oleshky District Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched for violations of the laws and customs of war that resulted in the death of a person.
In a statement on Telegram, Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, wrote: “Russian terrorists have taken yet another child’s life in Kherson region. In the village of Pravdyne, Bilozerka community, Russian forces attacked a one-year-old boy and an elderly woman who were in the yard of a home.”
Prokudin noted that the child died instantly from his injuries.
A paramedic team provided medical care to a 64-year-old woman, who suffered a concussion, a blast injury, and a closed head trauma. She declined hospitalization.
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian troops in Kherson region are deliberately targeting civilians with drones near pharmacies and shops.
