The United States is calling for the immediate end of Russia’s massive attacks on Ukrainian cities.
According to a Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated by Keith Kellogg, the U.S. President’s Special Envoy, during his speech at the 4th Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Rome.
“The attacks just this past week, in enormity, are simply horrific in their scale. Schools, hospitals, apartments, and other civilian infrastructure have all been subject to Russian attacks, resulting in the senseless killing of Ukrainian civilians, including women and children. This must stop,” Kellogg said.
According to him, the casualties on both sides have already “surpassed millions —numbers we’ve not heard of since World War II.”
“This level of death and destruction — again, not seen since World War II — is the guiding motivation behind President Trump’s mandate to achieve peace in this deadly conflict — a just peace. The destruction caused by the war is also why the United States is partnering with Ukraine to save full restoration of this nation following a peace settlement,” the U.S. Special Envoy added.
He stressed that in the pursuit of peace between Russia and Ukraine, it is important to focus on “reaching a comprehensive and permanent peace settlement.”
As Ukrinform reported, Russia launched another massive combined strike on Ukraine overnight, using 18 missiles, including ballistic types, and around 400 attack drones, nearly 200 of which were Shahed-type.
