Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that everything that can stop Russia must be implemented without delay, following another round of attacks against Ukraine.
In a post on Facebook, Zelensky emphasized the urgency of action after Russian drone strikes injured nine people in Kharkiv, Ukrinform reports.
“Among the wounded are women in a maternity hospital – mothers with newborns, women recovering from surgery. Fortunately, no children were injured,” he wrote.
“Russia is targeting life itself – even in the very places where it begins. Overnight, strikes also hit the Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Sumy regions. In the morning, the Odesa region was attacked. Now, they launched new waves again,” Zelensky said.
He stressed that there is no silence in Ukraine.
“Constant Russian attacks with drones, missiles, and aerial bombs. That is why it is so important to implement as soon as possible everything we agreed on with our partners these past days in Italy,” he said.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine urgently needs air defense — above all else — as well as interceptor drones.
“This was discussed with all our partners. We have received positive signals, and it is crucial that these signals turn into real investments in this technology,” he said.
He also emphasized the need to tighten sanctions on Russia. “We are expecting the adoption of a new sanctions package,” Zelensky said.
“Everything that will put pressure on Russia and stop it must be implemented as quickly as possible,” Zelensky said.
The fourth Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) is taking place in Rome on July 10-11, with Zelensky and the leaders of European countries in attendance.
Zelensky noted that the conference resulted in the creation of a new coalition for Ukraine’s reconstruction and the establishment of the European Flagship Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine.
