In Rome, the representatives of Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine and Westinghouse Electric Company have announced the signing of agreements to deploy the facilities producing nuclear fuel components in Ukraine.
The relevant statement was made by Energoatom’s press service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
During the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) in Italy’s Rome, Energoatom and Westinghouse Electric Company announced the signing of key new agreements, which will enable the deployment of full-scale production facilities in Ukraine for the manufacture of nuclear fuel components compatible with Westinghouse technologies.

“This cooperation is a key step to increase security and reliability of fuel supply for Ukraine’s nuclear fleet, leveraging the only fully Western VVER fuel offering,” the report states.
In particular, Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine Acting CEO Petro Kotin and Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB Managing Director and Senior Vice President Aziz Dag signed a declaration to establish a fabrication line for VVER-1000 fuel assemblies at the facilities of Energoatom’s affiliate. The final agreement is expected to be concluded in the near future.

A reminder that, in May 2025, Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB recognized a separate subdivision of Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, Atomenergomash, as a qualified and approved supplier of nuclear fuel components.
