Ukrainian air defense downs 61 Russian drones

Ukraine’s air defense forces shot down 61 out of 136 Russian drones between the evening of July 13 and the morning of July 14.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

Starting at 18:30 on Sunday, July 13, Russia launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Ukraine. The assault included four S-300/400 surface-to-air guided missiles fired from the Kursk region and 136 drones, including Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of decoy drones, launched from Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and from temporarily occupied areas of the Donetsk region. Up to 90 of the drones were Shahed-type UAVs.

Ukrainian aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, UAV units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled the aerial assault.

As of 08:30 on Monday, July 14, preliminary reports confirmed that 61 drones had been shot down over northern, eastern, and central Ukraine.

Additionally, 47 decoy drones were lost from tracking due to the effects of electronic warfare systems.

There were confirmed impacts from 28 UAVs in ten locations, as well as debris from downed drones falling in four other locations.
