
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump.
As reported by Ukrinform, Zelensky shared the update on Telegram.
“I spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump. A really good conversation. I am grateful for his willingness to support Ukraine and continue working together to stop the killings and achieve a lasting and just peace,” he wrote.
According to Zelensky, Trump briefed him on his meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. “It is important that we have such strong relations and that Alliance countries are striving to increase defense spending,” Zelensky noted.
The two leaders discussed necessary tools and decisions “to provide greater protection for people from Russian strikes and to strengthen our positions.”
The Ukrainian President expressed readiness to work as productively as possible to achieve peace.
“We agreed to stay in regular contact and continue coordinating our actions. Thank you, Mr. President! Thank you, America!” Zelensky added.
According to Ukrinform, Donald Trump, during a meeting with Mark Rutte, stated that the NATO agreement envisions providing Ukraine with military assistance worth billions of U.S. dollars.
