The European Commission has approved Ukraine’s inclusion in the EU’s ‘Roam like at Home’ policy, allowing Ukrainians to use mobile services across the EU without incurring additional charges.

The relevant statement was made by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Ukrainian government, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Finally, a significant step in Ukraine’s European integration. The European Commission has approved Ukraine’s inclusion in the EU’s ‘Roam like at Home’ policy, the so-called ‘roaming visa-free’ regime, expected to take effect from January 1, 2026,” Shmyhal noted.

In this regard, the Ukrainian government endorsed the decision of the EU-Ukraine Association Committee on the mutual opening of the roaming sector as a step towards finalizing the roaming visa-free regime, Shmyhal added.

A reminder that the European Commission proposed integrating Ukraine into the EU roaming area from January 2026. This move would allow Ukrainians and EU citizens in Ukraine to stay connected with friends and family across the EU without incurring additional charges.
