The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine predicts that Russia will intensify pressure on the Baltic states.
According to Ukrinform, this is stated in the Center for Countering Disinformation‘s forecast regarding Russia’s propaganda methods in the second half of July 2025.
“The Center predicts an intensification of Russia’s hybrid influence on the Baltic states – Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. The traditional tools of information pressure, which involve the spread of disinformation, pro-Russian narratives, and attempts to discredit national governments, may be supplemented by new provocations that pose a direct threat to the national security of the region,” the Center for Countering Disinformation notes.
In the context of growing tensions around NATO’s borders, analysts do not rule out a repeat of incidents similar to the one on July 10, when an unknown drone violated Lithuania’s airspace, forcing the country’s authorities to switch to emergency response mode.
“This incident demonstrated the readiness of Russia and its allies to increase psychological pressure aimed at provoking anxiety in the societies of the Baltic states,” the Center for Countering Disinformation noted.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, said that the Russians are preparing an attack on the Baltic states, which, under the current circumstances, would take them 4–6 years to carry out.
