The South Operational Command has denied reports that Russian occupying forces have allegedly captured the village of Malynivka in Zaporizhzhia region.
This was stated on television by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the South Operational Command, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“Saying that some settlement has been ‘captured’ is an overstatement, because the enemy is simply destroying both the settlement itself and all of our positions there, trying to push the Ukrainian Defense Forces back from specific lines. But the enemy cannot actually seize and hold those positions. I can only confirm that fierce fighting has taken place in that direction. The enemy tried to advance, even using motorized assaults with motorcycles. They’ve practically destroyed all positions there, but they are currently unable to hold Malynivka. The Ukrainian Defense Forces maintain fire control over all these positions and over what remains of that former settlement,” Voloshyn explained.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the frontline yesterday, July 15, there were 171 combat clashes between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian invaders.
