President Volodymyr Zelensky held a defense sector meeting focused on Ukraine’s domestic weapons production, agreements with international partners, and military supply efforts.
The head of state reported this via Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
“I held a meeting on the defense sector: our domestic weapons production, agreements with partners, and supplies for the Ukrainian army. We are thoroughly analyzing how all contracts, agreements, and investment projects are being implemented,” Zelensky stated.

According to him, the meeting participants outlined steps that must be taken in the near future and defined key performance indicators by which the effectiveness of defense sector management will be assessed by the end of the year.
“There must be more Ukrainian-made weapons,” the President emphasized.
Among those present at the meeting were Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on July 15, Denys Shmyhal submitted to the Verkhovna Rada his resignation from the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.
A day earlier, on July 14, President Zelensky, during a meeting with First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko, proposed that she take over leadership of the Cabinet of Ministers. The President also said that Shmyhal’s experience would be valuable in the role of Defense Minister in the updated government.
