An exclusive screening of the second part of the documentary film Operation Kursk took place in Kyiv.
This was reported on Facebook by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Ukrinform.
The screening was attended by representatives of the Kyiv Association of Military Attachés and members of the diplomatic corps from Ukraine’s partner countries.
The film showcases to both Ukrainians and the international community how Ukrainian fighters destroyed the enemy on its own soil, the decisions made by Ukrainian commanders, and why this operation became one of the most successful since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.
The documentary includes unique footage filmed during real combat missions. Director Dmytro Kuievda, along with cameramen Oleh Balaban and Oleksandr Zhuravskyi, worked directly on the front lines, risking their lives to capture the truth.
“The film features exclusive commentary from key commanders: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Missile Troops and Artillery, Major General Andrii Malinovskyi, representatives of the General Staff, brigade and battalion commanders. They speak openly and professionally about the objectives, logic, risks, and outcomes of the operation,” noted Colonel Bohdan Senyk, head of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As reported earlier, Operation Kursk was created on the initiative of the Main Communications Directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in collaboration with media center film crews. It is the first documentary chronicle covering Ukraine’s offensive actions on Russian territory in August 2024.
The filmmakers used video materials from communication units of combat brigades. The film includes rare footage from the first days of the operation and details the preparation of commanders, the development of the offensive strategy, assaults, and captured equipment.
