Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) will conduct an audit of the implementation of decisions made by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff.

Newly appointed NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov announced this, according to Ukrinform citing the NSDC press service.

During a meeting with the NSDC Apparatus, Umerov outlined the key tasks set by President Volodymyr Zelensky, emphasizing the need for transparency and effectiveness in Ukraine’s defense sector.

“We discussed clear tasks and work priorities with the head of state. An audit of the implementation of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff decisions will be conducted in the near future. We will present a plan of action to the President of Ukraine,” the NSDC Secretary stated.

He added that international military cooperation and arms deliveries will be among the NSDC’s top priorities.

“The work will focus on coordinating and controlling the security and defense sector, ensuring the synchronization of all its components, technological modernization, and international military cooperation, particularly regarding weapons supplies and strategic partnerships,” Umerov said.

A separate focus, Umerov noted, is the revival of the Technological Staff as a tool to accelerate innovation in the security and defense sector.

The NSDC Secretary also emphasized the importance of the diplomatic track. “Ukraine consistently advocates for a just peace — and we are working to achieve it in close coordination with our allies. Peace through strength,” he stressed.
