Russia unleashes unprecedented missile and drone attack on Ivano-Frankivsk

Russia launched a combined strike at Ivano-Frankivsk community using drones as well as Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles.

That is reported by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

“…Overnight on June 21, 2025, the armed forces of the aggressor state carried out the largest combined missile-and-drone strike at the territory of Ivano-Frankivsk region since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The main impact was on Ivano-Frankivsk urban community. The attacks involved unmanned aerial vehicles, Kinzhal ballistic missiles, and Kalibr cruise missiles,” the statement reads.

As a result of the attack, four people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy.

“The injured individuals are receiving necessary medical assistance,” the prosecutor’s office added.

In addition, debris from UAVs fell on private homes in four settlements of Ivano-Frankivsk district. In Kolomyia district, fragments of a cruise missile damaged a residential building and an outbuilding.

Emergency response and recovery operations are ongoing.

A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of the laws and customs of war.

As previously reported, Ivano-Frankivsk suffered the most massive enemy attack since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Russian forces struck the city with drones and missiles, injuring four people.
