SBU, PGO conducting special operation to neutralize Russian influence on NABU – source

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) are conducting a special operation aimed at neutralizing Russian influence on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), a source within the SBU told Ukrinform.

According to the source, a series of searches is currently underway across various regions of Ukraine. Several NABU detectives are suspected of state treason, illegal trade with the Russian Federation, and corrupt activities serving the interests of oligarchs.

Preliminary findings indicate instances of unofficial influence by Russian intelligence services on NABU personnel. In particular, one detective is alleged to have transmitted classified information to the enemy via individuals from the inner circle of former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. Another has reportedly betrayed the state and engaged in illegal business dealings with Russia. The latter was detained today by the SBU.

“Details will follow. Judging by the developments, there is much more to come,” the source added.
