Russian intelligence services and propagandists are closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine amid protests over the adoption of bill No. 12414.
This was reported by the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
According to the DIU, the enemy’s goal is to use the protests related to the law to undermine Ukraine’s ability to resist Russia’s full-scale aggression.
The agency warns that Russia aims to discredit Ukraine internationally in order to weaken or destroy Western support for its armed resistance against the aggressor.
Ukrainian intelligence also has data indicating that Russia is considering exploiting public discontent to intensify internal destabilization. It plans to use all available influence resources, especially information warfare tools.
“To escalate the protests, deepen polarization, and sow chaos in Ukrainian society and ultimately erode the state’s resilience during this existential war provocations inspired by Moscow cannot be ruled out,” the DIU stated.
The intelligence service calls on Ukrainian citizens to remain prudent in their assessments and actions. It stresses that the Ukrainian nation is facing a genocidal war, in which the aggressor is trying by every possible means to destroy the country.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on July 22, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that reduces the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO). That same day, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed it into law.
Protests were held in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, where participants demanded that the President veto the new law.
