As of July 23, there are still 1,380 people remaining in the town of Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, but delivering humanitarian aid or drinking water to them has become nearly impossible.
This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, during a television broadcast, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.
“There are 1,380 people left in Pokrovsk, and 2,700 in the entire community. That’s still a lot of people. But delivering humanitarian aid or drinking water is nearly impossible. Almost all local shops have closed because the enemy is shelling all access routes to the town and monitoring them with FPV drones using fiber-optic control,” Filashkin said.
He noted that only with the support of the military is it still possible to deliver humanitarian aid, as volunteer organizations are no longer able to enter Pokrovsk.
As reported earlier, since the beginning of the day, 72 combat clashes have occurred between Ukraine’s Defense Forces and Russian troops. Fighting is still ongoing in six sectors of the front line, with the heaviest attacks taking place near Pokrovsk and Lyman.
