Zelensky appoints Umerov Head of National Cyber Security Coordination Center

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umerov has been appointed Head of the National Cyber Security Coordination Center (NCSCC).

This is stated in Presidential Decree No. 547/2025 “On Amendments to Presidential Decree No. 242/2016 of June 7, 2016,” Ukrinform reports, citing the Press Service of the Office of the President.

“To amend Article 2 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 242/2016 of June 7, 2016, ”On the National Cyber Security Coordination Center” (as amended by Decrees No. 415/2019 of June 19, 2019, and No. 771/2019 of October 25, 2019 No. 771/2019), Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, is appointed Head of the National Cyber Security Coordination Center,” the decree reads.

It is also noted that the decree comes into force on the day of its publication.

As reported by Ukrinform, Ukraine will gain access to the EU Cybersecurity Reserve, one of the European Union’s key initiatives to strengthen digital states.
