In Kharkiv, one of the district boiler rooms was significantly damaged as a result of a massive Russian attack.

This was reported on Facebook by the municipal enterprise “Kharkiv Heat Networks,” according to Ukrinform.

“As a result of a three-hour night attack on Kharkiv, one of the large district boiler rooms was critically damaged. The facility was hit twice by rocket fire in one night,” the post says.

It is noted that the staff on duty did not communicate for some time.

“Fortunately, everyone is alive and unharmed, having taken refuge in a concrete shelter,” the utility company reported.

The boiler room had already been hit by rocket attacks several times, damaging the structure of the building, and reconstruction had been ongoing since April.

“The enemy’s latest rocket attack has presented the heat and power engineers with a very difficult task. Due to the critical nature of the damage, it is impossible to restore the boiler room to operation before the start of the heating season,” the utility workers stated.

Currently, employees of Kharkiv Heat Networks and Kharkiv Water Canal are dismantling the damaged equipment.

“Today, an urgent process began to find solutions for decentralizing the heating system in the service area of this heat source. Before the cold weather sets in, we need to build an energy island for 53,000 residents of the Kyiv district,” the utility company said.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv for almost three hours on the night of July 26, using ballistic missiles, guided aerial bombs, and “Shahed” drones.

According to the State Emergency Service, six people were injured, four of them rescuers.

Seven fires broke out, which were extinguished during the day.
