Ukrainian company showcases miner drone Tryminer at IDEF 2025 in Istanbul

Ukraine’s Robotic Complexes LLC has displayed a new type of ground drone, Tryminer miner drone, at the IDEF 2025 International Defence Industry Fair in Türkiye’s Istanbul. Its unique feature is the ability to lay mines from wheels, as well as the complete absence of welding seams.

In a commentary to Ukrinform, Robotic Complexes LLC CEO Ihor Chaikivskyi told more about this project.

“The peculiarity of this drone is that the mines are placed not only in the body, but also in the wheels. The idea of using the space inside the wheels was inspired by the experience of ancient Rome, where weapons were also hidden in the wheels of chariots. This design has its advantages: in particular, the center of gravity is lowered, which increases the stability of the machine and its cross-country ability,” Chaikivskyi said.

The weight of the miner drone presented at IDEF 2025 is 80 kg. It can carry three mines with a total weight of up to 35 kg, and discharges the warhead using a rotating mechanism. The drone is remotely controlled, runs on standard batteries, and its design allows it to be transformed into a logistics drone or even used as a kamikaze drone. The range is 10 km. The base cost is about UAH 120,000.

“Its advantage is that it is lightweight and created using available materials. The use of aluminum, in particular, allowed us to reduce the weight of the structure. Accordingly, the weight reduction made it possible to use three wheels instead of four,” Chaikivskyi explained.

The Tryminer miner drone can operate both day and night thanks to its night vision camera. Its unique feature is the complete absence of welding seams.

“The entire body is made without a single weld. It is like a construction kit: easy to assemble, easy to dismantle. This greatly speeds up and reduces the cost of the production process or even repairs. The high arch, which is also removable, provides visibility in tall grass,” Chaikivskyi added.

In his opinion, modern warfare will increasingly require robotic systems that are mobile and flexible to perform tasks in various conditions, and ensure the achievement of goals at relatively low costs.

According to Chaikivskyi, Robotic Complexes has also launched the mass production of the tracked unmanned drone, Murakha, and is working on new developments that aim to save the lives of the Ukrainian military and make it easier for them to perform tasks.

“Our company is known as the manufacturer of the Murakha drone. This is a rather complex technological product, the key difference of which is a unique single-stage hydroelectric transmission, which allows you to control two tracks using only one motor. The Murakha drone also has unique things, such as batteries of our own production, cooling and heating systems, which are not found in other drones. These innovations provide a large range, reduce energy consumption, and increase the reliability of the system in field conditions,” Chaikivskyi told.

The Murakha drone is a logistics platform capable of transporting over 500 kg of cargo over a distance of up to 40 km. The drone has an active suspension with shock absorbers, which provides it with high cross-country ability even on rough terrain. Internal electrical connections are built without soldering – instead, special industrial connections are used that can withstand high vibration loads.

“Based on the Murakha drone, several specialized modules have been created, including the Pliushch drone, a telecommunications device with a 10-meter mast, designed to install antennas, radars and repeaters. All our developments have one goal – to save lives and facilitate the performance of tasks by Ukrainian defenders, replacing them where possible. The task must be completed, even if the drone cannot return afterwards,” Chaikivskyi explained.

At the moment, the company is working on such drones as Bohomol and Soroka, but the details are not to be disclosed.
