
Russian drone strikes injured two people in Sumy.
The acting Mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, said this in a video address, according to Ukrinform.
“Today, there were two explosions in the city. The first was a drone strike on a critical infrastructure facility. According to preliminary information, there are no casualties. The second explosion was also a drone strike, this time in the central part of the city, targeting a non-residential building. According to initial reports, two people were injured,” Kobzar said.
Oleh Hryhorov. head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported that Russian forces once again targeted the regional administration building.
“An hour ago, the Russians struck the Sumy Regional Administration building again. As a result of the strike in central Sumy, people were injured. A 75-year-old woman with shrapnel wounds has been hospitalized,” Hryhorov said.
He added that the injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance, and all emergency services are involved.
Hryhorov noted that on Friday and Saturday, Russian forces had already attacked the regional administration building using attack drones. Today was another attempt to destroy it.
He said that Russia is systematically targeting civilian and administrative infrastructure in an attempt to intimidate the population and destabilize the region.
On July 29, Russian forces carried out nearly 70 strikes on the Sumy region, injuring two women.
