Сourt arrests Haidai for two months and sets bail

The High Anti-Corruption Court has imposed a preventive measure on the former Head of the Mukachevo District State Administration and former Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai, in the form of detention for 60 days.

This was announced by the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, Ihor Strohyi, during a hearing on August 4, according to a Ukrinform correspondent.

“The court has decided to impose a preventive measure on the suspect in the form of detention for 60 days. Bail has been set at 10 million hryvnia,” Strohyi said.

Haidai arrived at the High Anti-Corruption Court and was present at the court hearing.

As reported by Ukrinform, after reports from the Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Head of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced the exposure of one of the people’s deputies, heads of district and city administrations, as well as National Guard servicemen for bribery.

Later, NABU and SAPO clarified that this involved fraud in the purchase of drones and electronic warfare equipment at inflated prices. The essence of the scheme was to conclude state contracts with supplier companies at deliberately inflated prices — up to 30% of the contract amount was returned to the participants in the crime in the form of undue benefits.

Among the suspects are the head of the Mukachevo District State Administration of the Zakarpattia Region, former Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration Serhii Haidai, and People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People party Oleksii Kuznetsov.

The High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Kuznetsov in the form of detention for 60 days with the right to post bail for UAH 8 million.
