Two dead, ten injured: Russian forces attack Lozova with 34 drones

On the night of August 5, Russian forces attacked the city of Lozova in the Kharkiv region with more than 30 drones. The attack left two people dead and ten injured, including children.

Lozova Mayor Serhiy Zelenskiy detailed the impact of the attack in a video statement, as reported by Ukrinform.

“It was a terrible night for Lozova. There has never been such an attack on the city before. More than 30 Shaheds attacked our city. The final wave came while emergency services were already responding—deliberate and vicious,” he said.

Among the victims was a 55-year-old mechanic on duty at a railway facility. Ten others were wounded, including a 14-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl, who suffered various injuries and acute stress reactions.

The strike caused significant damage to railway infrastructure. Windows in nearby residential buildings and a kindergarten were shattered. Emergency crews are working to clear debris and restore essential services.

Power outages affected nearly 80% of Lozova’s residents. Oleksiy Zubashev, head of the city’s power distribution company, confirmed that the drone attack severely disrupted the electricity supply.

“Specialists from the power company promptly began efforts to restore electricity, implementing temporary power schemes and rerouting supply where possible. Their initial priority was to reconnect critical infrastructure across the city. Household consumers are now being gradually brought back online. While parts of Lozova—including the Avylivka district—remain without power, we are doing everything in our capacity to fully restore electricity to all residents as quickly as possible,” he assured.

As reported by Ukrinform, in Lozova, Kharkiv region, a massive Russian drone strike caused widespread destruction and left several people wounded, including two children.
