Fighters from the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) carried out a special operation in the Sumy sector, penetrating enemy lines and defeating more than eight Russian assault companies.
According to Ukrinform, the HUR said this in a post on Facebook, accompanied by a video showing footage from the mission.
The HUR’s Timur Special Unit successfully halted Russian attempts to advance in the Sumy sector. During the operation, Ukrainian operatives infiltrated enemy positions, cleared them, and secured a foothold.
“The advance of Russian forces has been stopped, and the supply of food and ammunition to their units has been disrupted,” the statement reads.
The video released by the HUR shows key moments of the mission: rapid raids behind enemy lines, precision work by artillery crews and grenade launchers, elimination of Russian forces using drone-dropped munitions and direct FPV drone strikes, as well as footage of close-quarters combat.

According to radio intercepts, Russian troops refused to storm the positions held by the Timur Special Unit, citing fabricated excuses.
During the operation, Russian forces lost at least 334 personnel killed and over 550 wounded.
The operation was conducted by several HUR units within the Timur Special Unit, including Chimera, Yunger, Stugna, the Siberian Battalion, Aratta, 1514, Paragon, Art Division, First Line, Raven Group, and the 6th Special Operations Detachment.
